Who we are
Praxis meets nearly every Wednesday night at First Presbyterian Church of Spokane from 7-9PM. You’ll find us just up the stairs and in the main doors from the parking lot. You can expect the usual stuff (great music, italian sodas, decent teaching, small groups) and more. Something unusual or crazy awesome typically happens, too.
Together, we are a community of high school students from around Spokane who care about each other, our schools, and our city. But most importantly, we want to move forward in what it means to have a faith in a loving God, who calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves.
What we do
We gather at the end of Wednesday evenings in the fall into small groups of mixed ages and genders. The goal of these is to make sure students have a place to feel welcome, comfortable, and known by one another.
Discipleship (D) Groups
These groups begin mid-November and are comprised loosely of students of the same age and gender, with an adult leader. D Groups meet during Praxis for the rest of the year and are a place to build deeper community, discuss ideas around faith and Jesus, and share openly with one another. These groups meet in a group member’s home the last Wednesday of each month, instead of meeting at the church for a regular Praxis.
easter project: tijuana
Easter Project is our annual trip to Tijuana, Mexico, to work alongside locals, students, and friends to build homes and bless others. Contracts, fundraising info, and more can all be found starting in November 2019, with applications due December 4th.
Every Sunday at FPC there is a worship at 9AM, followed by Sun Praxis from 10:15-11:15am. You can expect donuts, community, and great conversation.
